Each One Reach One

Youth

At FGBC, we recognize that our teens live in a day when they are bombarded constantly with worldviews that are contrary to a biblical worldview. We also recognize that many youth leave the church and even their faith when they head off to college. Some of this apathy is due to youth ministries that are full of fun but are weak in substance.

While we want our teens to have fun, we also want to ensure that they are being equipped to "do hard things" and become Christian leaders in their schools and among their friends. Our goal is to see a new generation of Christian leaders raised up that is sold out to following after Christ in their every action! We believe this passion comes through a balanced ministry that includes strong teaching, opportunities for servant ministry, and of course, fellowship and fun.

Our group is called "The Refuge" and they meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. We would love for you to come and check out what God is doing in this group. Below are just some of the awesome things that God is leading this group of students to be involved in:

  • An active drama ministry that seeks to communicate relevant Christian topics through thought-provoking skits
  • Servant projects for both individuals within and outside the church body, including helping with the Nursing Home Ministry at FGBC
  • Fun outings which include going to the beach to surf, Wav Fest, and lock-ins/lock-outs
  • Yearly spiritual challenges at places like M-Fuge and Evangelism conferences

If you want to know more about what God is doing with our youth, contact Jonathan Gibson. Better yet, come check us out on a Wednesday evening! It is highly likely your life will be changed because you did!

Oh yeah, check back from time to time for dates of upcoming events and pictures of the group!
